A sea turtle who was hatched in 1959 spends the next 50 years traveling the world while it is being changed by global warming. After I watched Animals United, I thought that no one could ever make another movie as borring as that… then came Sammy’s Adventures! First I had to fight massive tiredness. Already after about 5 minutes you feel that this movie will probably become boring. And this feeling is right, it’s one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. This is because there is no coherent plot, the characters are dull and you just don’t care about what happens to them.
This inoffensive, slightly soporific animation is targeted at young children, who may not pick up on its eco-theme, but will probably warm to the titular turtle.
If someone wants to give their input about global warming, start a talk-show on Discovery Channel or something. The only thing good about this movie is the effects and effort that was put into making all the nice sea-life scenes. They point out that the world is the way it is because of the humans and I am not saying it isn’t, cause we all know it is… but then they bring in this flower power junkies that smokes weed… is that OK? All the ships pushing out this gigantic pile of smoke that is clearly visible and then they show this peace pipe boat with this fainted line of smoke. LOL, I dont get it.
Anyway, my daughter loved the movie, she didn’t watch the movie for the story line, she is only 4 years old. But the interaction with all the sea-life amazed her. Please, a sequel will not work.
